Why Have I Been Quiet?

Shortly after my mother died last year, COVID19 hit. My energy is sapped.

Staying home during this horrific pandemic, I’ve cocooned with those I love most: my husband and our son.

I cannot predict when or what I’ll be writing next. I cannot predict when I’ll return to mental health advocacy or actively communicate with others on social media.

But, I’m Still Here

I’m still here, alive and well, just quietly so. Reducing my online activities has helped me cope. I’m exercising self-care.

I believe that I’ll be back before the end of 2021. I have hopes for an improved year. I have hope for the COVID19 vaccines. I have hope for more civility and less divisiveness this year.

  1. […] When I posted these videos, you could find me daily on social media. Since my mother passed away shortly before the COVID19 pandemic, I’ve been taking it easy, exercising self-care by minimizing my social media activity. […]

  2. COVID19 has changed our lives. Now that my family and I are fully vaccinated, I feel more comfortable. Forgive me for my delayed response. I have done very little social media interaction during COVID. Cocooned for my mental health.

  3. Really relatable I just started my own travel blog and then covid hit and I could not travel anymore from my country. No travel planning for me at all ?

  4. Thanks so much, Martin! That’s very kind of you to write. Take extra-good care, Dy

  5. Glad to hear you are staying safe and have your husband and son for support. Take care and hopefully we will have brighter days ahead.

I’m so glad to see you’re posting. I haven’t done much with my blog either—hard to write about bipolar when I’m not experiencing any symptoms, and I’m afraid just talking about general things is boring. So I post about once a month.

Hope you’re staying well both physically and mentally. Maybe now that we’ve got the Covid shot and a new President coming in, life will return to normal eventually. ?

  8. It’s good to hear from you, Kitt.

I understand the need to reduce online activities, I’ve done the same thing so I can focus more on taking care of myself, my two teenage girls, my husband, and my fur freak Lucy.

I’m sending you lots of love, support, and dreams of snowy Tahoe!
    ((hugs),
