Joseph Suglia Liked Language Frustrates Me

Joseph Suglia liked my post Language Frustrates Me. I’m thrilled, so here I boast and return the favor. Suglia’s latest novel TABLE 41 you can read free online at table41thenovel.com. I will read it now that I know about it. Doesn’t hurt that Suglia liked my post. Suglia also wrote Watch Out: The Definitive Version, Years of Rage, and the academic Holderlin and Blanchot on Self-Sacrifice.

  1. Interesting comment, Mihran. My post on how language frustrates me was more theological or linguistic in nature. Not about making mistakes, but about how language intrinsically limits how we think and how we experience reality.

  2. This may seem counter-intuitive, but you should try making as many mistakes as possible. If you are making mistakes that means you are actually speaking English and improving. If you aren’t making mistakes every day then you aren’t speaking enough. Of course, you shouldn’t intentionally make mistakes, and you should try to be aware of your mistakes so you can learn from them and improve your skills.

  3. I haven’t read his stuff. I understand he’s controversial. But, I’ll give his latest novel a try, if not Watch Out.

  4. For some reason, I’ve already watched some of his Tube stuff. … okay not even my teacup, let alone the brew. But hey … kudos kiddo!
