Started going to group therapy and two writers’ group meetups the last three weeks. Not sure how much “work” I can take on right now. Attending group and the meetups is a big step towards leaving the isolation of my home where I care for my son and husband and going out into the adult world to socialize and engage in intellectual and creative pursuits. My goal first was to explore what happens to me in the midst of social stimulation. As I mentioned in my Titrating Stimulation post, social stimulation and social demands can trigger hypomania in me, so I must maintain healthy boundaries. Still, my goal has broadened. Now I see myself as a writer and an aspiring public speaker.
