Will I Start Blogging Again?

I haven’t really blogged since I published my book, “Balancing Act: Writing Through a Bipolar Life.” Will I start writing again?

For some time I did a bunch of podcast interviews, which you can find on my Media page. But the interviews started to bore me. I was telling the same story over and over again and simply got tired of sharing my story.

Instead, I’ve been focusing my attention on volunteering for my local NAMI affiliate, NAMI Central Oregon. I redesigned and maintain their website, sit on their board, and coordinate volunteers. I’ve presented NAMI Ending the Silence to middle and high schoolers and taught NAMI Peer-to-Peer last summer.

As for this blog, I’ve debated taking it off my home page. I’ve also thought about removing my blog posts and republishing them one at a time as chapters of my book, as my book was built from my posts. What do you think I should do?

  1. Thank you so much, Melinda. Thank you, too, for the work you do with NAMI Texas. I’m sorry to hear that you have been ill. You are in my thoughts for healing and wellness.

  2. Hi Kitty,
I saw your avatar today and wanted to drop in and say hello. I’m so proud of you, not only did you write a successful blog, and write a great book but now you’re doing the most rewarding work with NAMI. I’m a part of the Texas Chapter but have been too ill to participate more than sending letters. You’ve walked your path and although blogging is rewarding, helping people including teenagers is most rewarding. So glad you are active locally and worked to improve their website. Take good care, my friend.
